I feel like I had been looking forward to Jami & Kevin’s wedding FOREVER! Their undeniable love captured my heart within minutes of meeting them at their engagement session last year. The way Kevin looks at Jami like she is his whole world and how Jami makes Kevin smile at her light hearted jokes would cause anyone melt. Needless to say, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special and sure enough, it was.
When I arrived to Owls Nest the forecast wasn’t promising. Rain was coming down hard, with gusty winds that definitely looked like they were going to force us inside for the day. Shockingly, Jami was cool as a cucumber, laughing and enjoying a tasty mimosa with her ladies. She was a dream bride, with no concerns about the rain and confident that her ceremony would be outside – so I remained calm, knowing full well that the possibility of doing her portraits was slim to none . In the mean time I visited with Kevin, who was relaxing on the couch with his groomsmen. His only concern being “hows Jami doing?” I couldn’t help but think…. “god could these two be more perfect?! ”
In a beautiful turn of events, and what some might call a miracle, the rain began to lighten up as we were getting ready to depart for the ceremony. The air got warm and the wind let up. I started to actually believe we might be able to marry these two love birds OUTSIDE! Sure enough, with five minutes to spare, the rain stopped and the sun peaked out just enough to create a thick fog throughout the mountains. It was magical! The ceremony was beautiful and the vows that Jami and Kevin exchanged brought me to tears. After being introduced hand in hand at the reception, as the new Mr & Mrs O’Connell, it began to rain again. A huge thunderstorm was on its way – we had only had an hour long break in the rain – just enough for Jami and Kevins portraits. I couldn’t help but think, not only do these two have something special, but someone special was also looking down on them for the biggest day of their lives. <3
